Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, concluded its Bengaluru edition of the Snowflake World Tour, emphasizing the transformative role of AI and data in shaping India’s enterprise landscape. With insights from Vijayant Rai, Managing Director- India, Snowflake, the event spotlighted how the convergence of AI and data is empowering businesses across India, driving efficiency, innovation, and success. 

“There is no AI strategy without a data strategy,” Vijayant Rai, Managing Director- India, Snowflake noted during his keynote, stressing the critical role of a well-structured data framework in AI success. He said that Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud has been pivotal in enabling businesses to harness data-driven insights, reduce operational costs, and enhance customer experiences across sectors like BFSI, telecommunications, retail, and logistics.

Success Stories

The event showcased some key success stories of Indian customers like Razorpay, Swiggy, and Urban Company among others. 

Razorpay’s recently launched DataSync is built on Snowflake AI Data Cloud. DataSync will help businesses securely and easily integrate their financial and business data on Razorpay. This will enable businesses to leverage their data for deeper business intelligence, enhanced financial reporting, improved fraud & security monitoring, and generate new revenue ideas, turning payment data into a profit center. 

Swiggy, a leading food delivery service, reported a 3.7x increase in daily queries, a 20% faster data processing speed, and a 1.8x reduction in operational costs. 

Similarly, Urban Company has seen a tenfold improvement in operational efficiency through its collaboration with Snowflake. Queries that would originally take more than 20 minutes now return results in less than 2 minutes, enabling faster and more efficient business decisions.

Prioritising Security and Compliance in a Growing Regulatory Environment

As AI and data evolve, security and compliance are key concerns, especially in India’s dynamic regulatory landscape. With the rapid adoption of generative AI (gen AI) and large language models (LLMs), organizations must unlock value while ensuring data protection and compliance. 

At the event, experts showcased how Snowflake Horizon helps organizations with unified compliance, security, privacy, interoperability, and access capabilities for data, apps, and models in the AI Data Cloud, including Iceberg tables. Its integrated platform provides businesses with robust security and ensures compliance with India’s data privacy regulations, allowing confident innovation in a secure environment.

Data-Driven Innovation and Recognition

The event also celebrated the Snowflake Data Driver Awards, which recognised innovative enterprises that have made significant strides in data-driven decision-making. Piramal Finance received the Data Driver of the Year award, Arghya Sarkar, Director of Data and Analytics at Porter, received the Data Hero of the Year Award, Bidgely was honored with the Data for Good Award, and Toplyne was recognized with the Powered by Snowflake Award.

Rai concluded the event by reiterating Snowflake’s vision for the future of AI and data in India: “We are on a mission to make data work for enterprises, empowering them with easy, efficient, and trusted AI solutions. The era of enterprise AI in India has begun, and Snowflake is proud to be at the forefront of this revolution.”
