The Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India are growing fast, with major changes happening. The market is expected to reach $110 billion by 2030, with around 2,100-2,400 GCCs operating. This growth shows a yearly increase of 14% from 2023 to 2030.
While big cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad are still favorites, tier-II cities like Visakhapatnam and Coimbatore are becoming popular due to cheaper costs and better infrastructure.
GCCs are also teaming up with startups, boosting innovation and access to new technology. These centers are moving beyond traditional outsourcing to more advanced work such as engineering, data analytics, and cybersecurity, creating Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to lead innovation.
India’s GCC sector could employ over 4.5 million people by 2030, up from 1.9 million today. This increase emphasizes the need for talent development.
GCCs also drive demand for office space, particularly in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Most GCCs now support multiple functions, including tech development and product engineering, reflecting their shift towards offering integrated services.
These trends show India’s growing importance as a global hub for GCCs, thanks to tech advancement, partnerships, and a skilled workforce.
