Beyond the Endpoint: The Rise of Exposure Management

In today’s hyperconnected world, where individuals carry multiple devices, traditional endpoint protection is no longer sufficient to safeguard organizations against sophisticated cyber threats. The proliferation of connected devices has expanded the attack surface, making it increasingly difficult to secure every potential vulnerability.

Sanjay Kumar Das, Managing Director of Webel, highlighted the critical need for a paradigm shift in cybersecurity at Connect’24 – the inaugural edition of AI & Cybersecurity conclave, held on the 30th of August at Mumbai.

He emphasized the importance of exposure management as a viable alternative to traditional endpoint-based vulnerability protection.

Sanjay talked about why exposure management should look beyond end-points and focus more on ‘access’ and the criticality of developing knowledge and skills around security rather than completely relying on third parties. “Security cannot be a pocket that’s sewn onto your clothes. Security should be part of the internal design,” he added. He summed up the session by talking about the importance of Continuous threat exposure management (CTEM) in the coming days.
